Asian Games 2026 – Aichi Nagoya, Nagoya, Japan

The 2026 Asian Games will be held in Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya city, Japan from September 19 to October 4 with 41 sports and 66 disciplines at 53 venues. It is the third time that the multi-sport event will be hosted by Japan, having previously done so in 1958 (Tokyo) and 1994 (Hiroshima). The 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games is a very meaningful event for all of Japan, as it will provide a great opportunity to further deepen the growing exchange within Asia.

GL Events is delighted to have been named as Official Games Supplier for the Asian Games 2026, working alongside the AINAGOC and OCA to deliver the sports programme and all related services. GL Events’ extensive experience of hosting prestigious international sporting events will be key to helping the Aichi-Nagoya organisers to ensure the successful delivery of one of the most important sporting occasions on the continent, with an event schedule set to include 32 sports from the 2024 Summer Olympic Games and 11 more from the Asian Games.

A total of 15,000 athletes and team officials are expected to compete in the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, with competitions taking place across 53 venues throughout Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya City. To support the organisation of the event, a comprehensive package of services have been developed, including transportation and accommodation. Having decided against building a Games Village, organisers have opted to lease a cruise ship at Kinjo Pier in the Port of Nagoya for the accommodation of 4,600 athletes and officials, which is roughly one-third of the total number of participants.
