The Masters Leaderboard at Augusta National

The Masters leaderboard

The Masters tees off tomorrow at 2.40pm, but with only the top 50 and ties advancing to the weekend and there being just 53 players inside that cut line, the race for a Green Jacket is already looking pretty tight. 2021 champion Hideki Matsuyama and Englishman Tommy Fleetwood both have a chance to get their hands on one with improved rounds of 70 yesterday. Joaquin Niemann and Jon Rahm also have a decent shot at getting to the weekend after improving their first round score.

Bryson DeChambeau is hot on Rose’s heels with the American two shots back. He has a chance to become the first reigning US Open winner to win the Masters since 2001 and is on the verge of becoming the first three-time major champion in this decade. His approach play is a big factor at Augusta as he ranks second in the tournament for strokes gained-approach.

He was close to another birdie on the par five 12th, but his tee shot ended up flirting with Rae’s Creek and he had to lay-up for a four. He made a par on the 13th and another at the 15th.

The Northern Irishman is tied with Corey Conners and Scottie Scheffler at six under for the tournament. He had a good start to the day with a birdie on the first and he has another good look at the 18th.
