In recent years, major powers such as the United States, China, and Russia have sought to strengthen their influence through various diplomatic and economic strategies. One of the main points of concern is the competition between the US and China. In this context, China’s Belt and Road initiative continues, connecting countries through infrastructure and investment. China seeks to improve its global position by offering development alternatives that differ from the models promoted by western countries. This creates tension in diplomatic relations, especially with countries allied to the US. On the other hand, the conflict in Ukraine that began in 2022 shows how military dynamics can influence international relations. The response of western countries through economic sanctions and military support for Ukraine showed solidarity, however, this also sparked new tensions and the formation of new alliances among non-Western countries. Cybersecurity has become a priority in foreign policy settings, where the protection of data and critical infrastructure is seen as key to national stability. Multilateralism is also undergoing transformation, with international organizations such as the UN facing challenges in responding to global crises. Many countries are now prioritizing regional cooperation in an effort to resolve pressing problems. Forums such as ASEAN, the European Union and the AU are increasingly important in creating collaboration-based solutions. The focus on human rights and democracy is also in the spotlight. Many countries, especially in Europe and North America, emphasize the importance of these values ​​in their foreign relations. However, this approach often clashes with pragmatic policies, especially when dealing with authoritarian states that have strategic resources. Finally, the emergence of global health issues after the COVID-19 pandemic also reinforces the importance of international cooperation. Vaccine distribution and access to health care are crucial in creating stability around the world. Countries are now realizing that health challenges know no borders, and collaboration is key to overcoming future crises.
